What is our request to you?

We kindly request you to share your opinion about our school and the education we provide.

than one child at our school, please fill in the questionnaire only once and
keep your oldest child at our school in mind while doing so.

The process should take around 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire. The

What do we do with the results?

The results of the quality survey will be made anonymous, so it is impossible to
trace the results down to individuals. After closing the survey we will inform
you of the results of the survey.

Three weeks from now, Mr Martin from IST will leave for New Zealand and be replaced by Mr Jason from Canada.

Please note that on the 29^th of March,there will be school as usual  as the Gemeente Enschede has opted for May holidays, which takes up the total allowable days off.

Digiduif

We are studying the possibility to introduce the DigiDUIF services, enabling us to communicate with parents through emails and, if so desired, through cell phone messages. It also offers the possibility for you to access the school calendar with info on school activities.

We will need your assistance with this.

At the end of 2012 you received a letter with your child’s login code.

Those parents who have already activated their ( DigiDUIF)account  will receive this newsletter through their mail.

We urgently request  the other parents to also activate their account, so we will be able to do away with a written newsletter in the near future.

Ice Skating

We went Ice skating with the older children

at the Ice skating rink in the city centre.

Back at school the hot chocolate was waiting

for them.

We had good old winter fun.

We have raised 1379,15 euro
with our Winterfair

This is a lot of money and we want to thank you all for helping us.

Miss Maureen went to the “glazen huis” last Thursday with a delegation
of children to hand over a cheque.

There are many times in the life of a school when we are emotionally
moved. This year has been one which has challenged me,  the staff, you and our whole school
community. When I first became the headteacher of the Prinseschool /international
school, I stated that it was an honour and a privilege. That sentiment remains
firmer than ever.

The Christmas period is one which touches all our hearts and makes us a
little sentimental. Children and family are what make it so precious to us. Our
Christmas celebration is special because
it brings together our whole school community and a sharing of the children’s
achievements.

I am proud of our school because of how dignified you have been
throughout this term. The staff have been brilliant and the parents  have been extremely supportive. It goes
without saying that the children are all stars.

I make no apologies for being a little gushing as 2012 draws to a close
– a year which has tested the solidarity of our school to its limit. It is your
warmth which has kept us all going. We look forward to 2013!

 Sinterklaas celebration

 On the 5th of December, Sinterklaas will visit the school.

Children will  first go to their classes at 8:15 and then go outside with their teachers.

Parents are welcome to be present at the arrival of  Sintklaas.

They should stand behind their children, allowing everybody to have a good look at him.  After that, we will all move into the hall.

On that day, school will close at 12.30

On Thursday, December 6, school will open at the usual time.

Christmas party

 On Thursday December 20 we will have our annual  school Christmas party.

That afternoon children will be off at 12.30

From 17.00 till 19.00, we will have our joint Christmas meal, children in their classes, parents in the hall.

This year’s contribution amounts to € 22,50 per child.

 Halloween

 Again this year, Halloween was a very successful event.

All children, parents and teachers looked really spooky.

For all ages there were interesting workshops, including learning a scary dance and carrying out science experiments.

Teacher Appreciation Lunch.

 On November 22, Sue Landeweerd, together

 with a number of parents, organized an

Appreciation Lunch for all teachers.

That afternoon, parents and teachers enjoyed

a number of delicious international dishes.

Start school day:

To start the School day as effectively as possible we kindly ask of you to bring your child to school on time and to leave the class room before 8.30, so the teacher can start the lessons .Children are allowed in their class room from 8.20, the teacher will be present from this time.

Port cabins:

We will inform you immediately as soon as we know more about the port cabins. We are confident in finding a solid solution.

Information Evening:

This evening we will discuss what we do in your child’s class throughout the year.

This evening will take place on Monday 24 ^th September .

We have divided the evening in two groups:

18.00h -19.00h IST C, IST D

19.15h -20.15h IST A, IST B

Dutch as a second Language

Even more Dutch

Focus here is speaking and communicating in a playful way. The lessons take place Wednesday after school. Teachers are Mrs Annemiek Klei and Mrs Licette Lenderink Please contact Mrs Astrid Dijkstra for application and information.

Tomorrow there will be no Multiculti Club because of the furniture on stage we can not guarantee the safety of the children.

Farewell:

From 1^st
August Bert Jansen will start a new job with Consent. He has been offered the
opportunity to start the “consent Academie”. The Consent Academie shall work to
improve the education of pupils now and in the future.

We also say goodbye  to Mrs Zoe Lilley(IST). Her husband has a new job inRegensburg,Germany.

We wish both of  them good luck for the future.

Song festival:

On Wednesday
18th July is the annual Song Festival. This normally takes place outside.
Please think  of the weather that day and wear suitable clothing and sun cream.

All parents are welcome.

We start around 9am and finish  around 11am

Bring and Buy:

On Thursday 19
July as part of the end of the school year we have our annual Bring and Buy
Sale. Children may bring their unwanted toys, games or homemade food and drink  to sell.

The children
from groups1 and 2  are to be collected
from their class at 12pm. They can then go with their parents around the market  to buy things.

The market
begins at 12pm and ends at 1.30pm.

We ask you to kindly tidy away all of your rubbish and take any unsold items home again.

The items for selling can not be more than 3 euros

If it rains we shall hold the sale in the class and hall.

Olympic Games:

On Monday 18th June the former Olympic cyclist Henk Niuewkamp will visit our school. He took part in the 1968 Olympics. As part of our IPC topic he will be visiting the Dutch group 3-8 and will talk about taking part in the Olympic games. The whole school will welcome him on Monday morning.

International Evening:

On Thursday 28 June we have our yearly International Evening from 17.00 -19.00

Each class will represent a continent. You will receive a letter shortly with more information.

Information Evening Social media:

Tuesday 19th June there is another parents evening at the Prinseschool. This time the theme is “Social Media’. How can we support and guide our children on the digital highway? What do you think about hyves, twitter, Facebook etc.

The parents evening is open for all parents of the Prinseschool. The evening shall take place at the Prinsestraat 10 location. It will start at 19.30 and end around 21.30. You are welcome from 19.00.

Formation and grouping

Formation and grouping:

The classification of the groups for next year is at this moment being discussed in the MR.

We will share these with you as soon as possible.

The formation (which teacher will be in which group) will probably not be known until the week before the summer holidays. Again, we will share this information with you as soon as possible.

Important dates

Songfestival

On the 20th of July we will enjoy our annual Song festival.
Every school year, this occasion offers great opportunity to discover musical talent in our school, and to have lots of musical fun together.
Each group can have only one act to compete in the festival, because of this we need to have audition rounds.
These auditions will be held in the classes in the week of 11th of July.

The programme:
9.30 Preparation in the groups, rehearsals, handing in music.
10.15 Infant groups will move to venue (Big gym), other groups will follow.
10.30 Start Song festival
11.45 Jury retreat, break, surprise act
12.00 award ceremony
Depending on the weather the song festival will be held in the play ground or in the big gym.
We expect that this years’ Song festival will be singing and swinging as always!
Please join in or come to cheer us on!

Bring&buy

Our annual “Bring and Buy” is on Thursday 21st July (last school day this year).
For this event, the children of groups 4-8 may bring in items (toys, books, home-made snacks and drinks, etc.) to sell.
The children of the infant groups may be picked up at 12.00, so they can visit the bring& buy with their family.
The Bring & Buy starts at 12.00 and we end at 13.30
At 11.45 the children will start to set up their vending rugs.
We kindly ask you to ensure that all items that are unsold are taken back home.

Please make sure that:
- The items are priced at no more than € 3
- Each child brings their own rug to present their “goods”.

Prinseschool T-shirts

You have the opportunity to order a dark blue (Fruit of the Loom) Prinseschool logo shirts via Miriam Huusken, mother of Teddie, group 3 or Anneke , mother of Sem, also group 3.
Please mail your order with name and size to miriam.huusken@gmail.com before Wednesday 29th of June.
During the school trips the children will also wear Prinseschool t- shirts, so they are easy to recognize.
These shirts are ordered by school and will be kept in school.
